Book Review: Retreats that Work

I love facilitating retreats. I also enjoy building my own capacity to effectively facilitate retreats. I’m about halfway through reading a comprehensive book on facilitating retreats: Retreats That Work: Everything You Need to Know About Planning and Leading Great Offsites, by Merianne Liteman, Sheila Campbell and Jeff Liteman (yes, it’s possible to write a 500+ page book on retreats!).

Over the last 14 years, I have raised over $3 million for over 30 organizations. My experience with fundraising started with my role as founding Executive Director for the L.A. County Bicycle Coalition and continued with serving on the Board of Directors for both Sustainable South Bronx and the Alliance for Biking and Walking. Flintridge Center Millennium Leadership Program

Not only does the Flintridge Center in Pasadena offer other workshops like the Board Development training I’m leading on April 17th, they also recently launched an innovative leadership development program. “The goal of Flintridge Center’s Millennium Leadership program is to support young leaders in developing the skills to successfully lead community-based organizations and social impact projects or to serve the public.”
